Xterprise Announces Easy-To-Use RFID Item-Level Display Compliancy System For Footwear Retailers
With the easy to deploy Clarity
Mobile application, footwear retailers can achieve 100% display
compliancy and stop missing sales due to display out of stocks
Dallas, TX
October 12, 2011
Xterprise today announces a released configuration of its Clarity Mobile
product targeting the footwear-retail market which is helping retailers
increase sales by achieving 100% store display inventory compliance.
This specific configuration of the Clarity Mobile product addresses the
problem that footwear retailers face every day of having to make sure
that their display inventory is accurate and complete so that customer
can pick out what they are interested in leading to new sales. Case
studies in the industry have documented that through empowering a
retailer to take a display-floor inventory rapidly and multiple times a
day, and then by using a real-time report showing what is missing off
the sales floor as the basis for making sure the display is full and
complete with the right product, sales have increased for stores using
such a system.
The Clarity Mobile application combines a quick and easy approach to
gaining an accurate inventory of the sales-floor displays with the
ability to view a real-time report of what is missing from the sales
floor so that they can fill the display inventory discrepancy and get
back to 100% compliance with display planogram. It also provides the
ability to search and find misplaced inventory using the “Geiger
counter” function on the mobile terminal. With this application a
retailer can take a high accuracy floor display inventory in a few
minutes, as opposed to the hours necessary for using the traditional
manual method. Clarity Mobile utilizes Xterprise’s “Scan and View”
capability, which provides real-time reporting for users in the
terminology of the product catalog and without the need for any EPC to
Product Descriptor translation tables. The central reporting feature
supports a chain wide view of display compliance and display inventory
template configuration.
”The display compliance business case is a perfect and simple use of
RFID/Item-Level technology to create value for retailers by insuring
what they want on the sales floor is in the sales floor displays,” says
Dean Frew, CEO of Xterprise. “We continue to find processes across the
retail spectrum where our light footprint and easy to deploy Clarity
applications are being applied to unserved business problems and are
subsequently creating significant business impact for retailers.”
The business case for using Clarity Mobile for footwear display
compliance is extremely strong. For example, a footwear retailer with
400 stores with product in the $50/pair average price range, who
achieved an increase in sales of just four pairs of shoes/week by
managing display compliance more efficiently using Clarity Mobile would
generate a positive ROI in less than 9 months (under a traditional
capital purchase model). In this example, the retailer would also
experience an increase in sales of over $3 Million every year and would
add over $1.6M in net gross profit to the bottom-line for the second
year and every year thereafter. The ROI can be improved even further if
the system is purchased through a system lease model vs. an up-front
capital purchase. There are many other savings components available
within the business case that have not been included in the numbers
above, all of which would improve the results even further. The above
business case includes all the technology elements of a solution:
software, RFID terminals, professional services, tags, cloud services
and support.
“The flexibility, rich feature set and ease-of-use of our Clarity
Mobile application along with application delivery through Microsoft’s
Azure cloud technology sets this product apart from our competitions
pure data collection or infrastructure heavy solution offerings,” Frew
adds. “The system is so intuitive and has so little to install that it
is not uncommon for us to bring a customer up and using the system
within a few hours after products are tagged and on the floor.”
The Clarity Mobile leverages Microsoft’s Azure cloud technology
allows the customer to only have to provide wireless connectively for
the RFID terminals within the store, no servers, and still have the full
benefit of reporting delivered through the Clarity web inventory
reporting portal. Xterprise’s Clarity technology leverages Microsoft
technologies including: .Net, SQL, and Windows Mobile. Customers of
Clarity Mobile are also deploying the companion product, Clarity ST
(Source Tagging), a cloud based application for in-store and
in-distribution center item-level source tagging of inventory items.
